BY ELLIOTT HEDMAN
Every year, I find students coming to me, asking HOW they should conduct their research. In this clinic, I will be discussing the importance of a sound research methodology. This is not just about doing the right statistical test: how do you prototype, conduct great pre-trials, and actually discover something useful? I will also help students identify what classes they should take in the coming years to be an expert researcher. Both quantitative and qualitative methods will be covered. No experience necessary. The class will largely be discussion based with minimal slides and boring equations. Elliott Hedman has consulted Google X, LEGO, Hasbro, and many Media Lab students on how to conduct research in a way that enables learning. In addition, he has taken 6 classes on Research Methods while at MIT.
